Wajid Khan of the Sajid-Wajid duo passed
away in Mumbai on 31st May 2020. This Bollywood’s renowned music composer directed the music for Suniel Shetty’s debut in Marathi film AA BB KK in 2018. Wajid Khan breathed his last at the age of 42. The composer was suffering from a kidney infection after
a transplant. He was also tested positive for COVID-19. Due to further complications, the artist lost his battle to his illness.
In the last few weeks, the industry has seen
great losses like Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor, and a few more. The death of Wajid Khan has left a void in the music industry of India. Marathi singer and music composer Avadhoot Gupte and Shalmali Kholgade respond to Wajid’s death.

Avadhoot remembers Wajid’s work as he writes,

Shalmali Kholgade writes, “To Wajid Bhai,
with Love. I’m indebted to you for showing faith and so much love in the little time we spent together. Rest in peace. X”.
Wajid Khan was part of the Sajid-Wajid duo
that has entertained fans ever since their debut in Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya. Wajid’s hits like Jalwa from Wanted and Chin Ta Ta from Rowdy Rathore were famous. His work in the Marathi industry was brief but important. Sajid-Wajid duo directed the music for
Suniel Shetty’s debut in Marathi film AA BB KK in 2018. This film also featured Tamanna Bhatia in an important role. The film has many hit songs like Bappa Bappa and Pichkari Maro.
